Employer-specific work permit
An employer-specific work permit allows you to work according to the conditions on your work permit, which include:
- the name of the employer you can work for
- how long you can work
- the location where you can work (if applicable)
For example, suppose you’re an international student studying in Canada and doing co-op work placements or internships as part of your study program. In this case you may be eligible for a co-op work permit, which is an open work permit that lists your institution or school as your employer.
