Applying to a secondary school in Canada
Applying to high school in Canada is a process with several steps. Some steps are different school to school so you should get in contact with the school you are applying to for more specific information.
Choose a school
What you have to do first is to research Canadian secondary schools and choose the school that will give you the education you are looking for. Canada offers a large variety of programs so there will be no problem finding the courses that match your interest.
Apply directly to the school
This is the step that may vary school to school. Schools in Canada have their own individual application form and process to follow. You should contact the school directly to get a copy of the form or an introduction to their process. They may require transcripts or other supporting document which are needed to be translated if they are not issued in the language of the in Canada so you should also make sure to have plenty of time.
Pay your application fees or other fees
Many schools require you to pay application fee and all or part of tuition of a year before sending you your letter of acceptance. This step is indeed important to obtain your letter of acceptance which keys to getting your Canadian study visa. Most institutions will refund your payment if for some reasons a student visa cannot be obtained.
Apply for your study permit
You can commence applying for your Canadian student visa (study permit) as soon as you obtain your letter of acceptance. This permit is required for all international students who are going to study in Canada for more than six months and the mentioned permit is issued by citizenship and Immigration Canada(CIC). Again make sure that you have plenty of time before the beginning of the school year because the application process of this permit may take some time.
